Elgin & District Mens Shed received funding to buy and install wind turbine solar panels and battery to charge up tools and equipment.

Eight Solar Panels and two wind turbines have been installed at the Mens Shed in Elgin. The energy being generated is sufficient to also power the lights at the Mens Shed.  This will reduce energy costs and carbon emissions. The energy being generated is sufficient to also power the lights at the Mens Shed.  It will also enable all tools to be battery operated any easier to use. Elgin & District Mens Shed will also be able to register as an emergency hub in the event of power cuts.

 Some of the members are now thinking of getting similar systems for themselves or their families.
