A New Community Led Vision for Moray
Moray Local Action Group aims to clearly articulate a vision for a community led wellbeing economy for Moray, as well as the implementation and learning strategies for bringing that vision to life - including through the delivery of its new fund, the Moray Local Action Fund.
In 2021, the review of the Local Development Strategy (LDS) identified gaps in relation to support for the natural environment and cultural development in Moray - as well as the need for a specific focus on business and community resilience and public wellbeing for a future strategy.
The review also identified “a real need for community animation and development funding in Moray”, which is seen as “having among the lowest resilience to economic change of all local authorities in Scotland”.
There are huge strengths within Moray, which can be unleashed through community led local development approaches to enable community led action to address these issues.
Moray Local Action Group has now published a community led vision for Moray - an important document that, at its core, seeks to inspire and support a just transition to a wellbeing economy for Moray.
The vision will guide the efforts of the Moray Local Action Group to attract and distribute funding and investment for community led action in Moray.
We hope it will also influence funding and investment decisions by others, as well as inspiring and supporting collective action and community led development.
This is a living document – not set in stone, nor owned by one group.
It belongs to us all and it will change in years ahead…as it reflects new contributions, accomplishments, challenges and opportunities.
