Support Coordinator

Funding from Moray Local Action Group helped Families Outside to employ a support coordinator to help families impacted by imprisonment.

Families Outside provided practical, social, and emotional support, with a work plan tailored to address outcomes relevant to a family, tackling issues such as:

• Mental and physical health issues.

• Rejection, stigma and victimisation by their community

• Financial pressure and risk to housing.

• Family division and isolation.

• Problems with childcare and schooling.

• Difficulties with travel and transport to prison visits.

Of the families engaged with, 100% agreed that at least one of the outcomes Families Outside sets out to achieve for families affected by imprisonment had been met.
