Keith and Strathisla Regeneration Partnership (KSRP) was awarded funding towards the development of a robust resilience plan for the region.

Working closely with the Moray Council and the emergency services, KSRP engaged local community halls at Newmill, Grange, Rothiemay, Drummuir and Mulben to help them be better prepared in the event of a storm or power outage event in the future.

Funding received from Moray Local Action Group enabled KSRP to purchase essential supplies the six halls in the Keith and Strathisla area.

Each hall has been provided wind up/solar powered torches, windup/solar powered radios, power banks for charging mobile phones, wind up/solar powered lanterns, food flasks, self-heating meals, hand warmers and foil blankets. Portable power stations were also purchased for each community to assist vulnerable residents who are unable to leave their home or have essential medical equipment.

KSRP have also been successful in securing additional funding from SSE to acquire generators for each hall to ensure they are prepared for the next outage event whenever it comes.
