Longmore Community Hall was awarded funding to upgrade and replace all interior lighting with energy saving fittings.
All pre-existing fluorescent light fittings were replaced with LED fittings, while toilets and areas of low footfall will be fitted with presence detection.
Changing to LED fittings with a predicted lifespan of approx. 50,000 hours will remove the need for maintenance for the next 20 years, as well as giving a saving on energy it will also remove the time and expense of replacing lamps.
It is anticipated that the new lighting will give Longmore Community Hall a minimum energy saving of approx. 60-70% per annum.
Creating a better environment for hall users and the wider community is also expected to bring about an increase in user footfall, in turn increasing revenue and supporting the future viability of the hall.
