Helping Moray’s businesses build a fairer, greener future

The Moray Local Action Group has been awarded funding by the Scottish Government’s Community Led Local Development (CLLD) Collaboration Challenge Fund to lead a collaborative pilot project.

The other project partners include: the Rural Perth & Kinross LAG (Local Action Group), Scotland CAN B, SRUC (the Scottish Rural College), Moray Chamber of CommercetsiMORAY and the Perth & Kinross Economic Wellbeing Partnership.

The project is designed to deliver training for rural business Advisors, enabling them to help businesses to better understand, measure and improve their impact on their workforce, their local communities and the wider environment.

The aim is to build regional capacity amongst place-based business support agencies to help Scotland’s rural businesses play their leading role in Scotland’s transition towards a Wellbeing Economy.

The initiative builds on learnings from research and engagement undertaken by the Moray Local Action Group in Spring 2023, and supports the Moray Local Action Group’s soon-to-be-published Community Led Vision.

The programme will culminate in a Learning Exchange in March 2024, bringing together participants from Moray and Rural Perth & Kinross to foster closer connections between the two regions.

The Exchange will also help to draw out insights from the programme to inform the potential roll out of the training more widely across other regions of Scotland in future.
