Therapeutic Garden and Energy Advise

REAP was awarded funding to expand its therapeutic gardening and energy advice services.

The therapeutic gardening service was extended to include the development of a sensory garden for participants experiencing mental health conditions. This helped to enhance their mood, performance, and overall cognitive function with the aim of supporting them to experience intentional periods of mindfulness to strengthen their creativity and bolster their memory.

The funding was also used to increase REAP energy advice service, helping people to apply to the Home Heating Support Fund. In one instance this granted the client £2500 to pay charges owed to their energy provider - a huge relief fort the client who was at this time starting to have severe anxiety and depression as they had been given an ultimatum to pay up. The client thanked REAP for our help and fed back that the service was a “life saver”. REAP believe they would not have been able to achieve this without the funding.
